Thank you Music Parents!

The 2010 Ice Cream Social was an overwhelming success! Many thanks to the outstanding work of our Music Parents and even more thanks to the parents, friends and family who came out to support the students. It should go without saying, but obviously the students created incredible music to keep everyone entertained. The directors would like to say thanks:

UCM Marching Festival Itinerary

One more marching festival for the Titan Pride in 2009! We have a home game tonight after the half day today, but there's an itinerary available for next week's marching festival. Download, print and affix it to your refrigerator!

A Note from Mr. Thurmond

1. The Symphonic Band will be opening their season next Monday, October 19th by performing in the Fall Orchestra Concert. After the orchestras perform, we will be playing two very beautiful selections, On An American Spritual and An American Elegy. Students in the Symphonic Band are to arrive in the band room by 6:40pm fully dressed in their concert uniform. The concert begins at 7:00pm. This does not include the Concert Band, however, they are encouraged to come watch the concert.

2. At our last competition of the season, UCM Festival of Champions, tickets will cost $10 for spectators. We have an opportunity to get 20% of that back per ticket sold prior to the event. If you will be travelling to Warrensburg on Saturday, October 24th to watch the Titan Pride play, please send CASH ONLY to school with your son/daughter to purchase the tickets through Mr. Thurmond. You may start purchasing these tickets immediately.

3. On our last scheduled home football game, Friday, October 30th, the Titan Pride Marching Band will be entertaining the audience at halftime with a brand new performance, Michael Jackson's Thriller. With it being the night before Halloween, we thought we would do this performance in costume. We are asking that all members of the marching band create a zombie costume to wear. We have asked them to go to Youtube and look at the video to get an idea of what we are looking for. We are requesting that they stick to the theme of Thriller, however, no masks may be worn. Students should arrive without make up on their faces, as we will be performing the pregame ceremony in our traditional marching band uniform. During the first half, we will come back to the building to apply make up and get into costume for the halftime show. All students need to have their costume in place for the Tuesday, October 27th rehearsal, so we can rehearse in costume.

LSN Basic Info

The full itinerary is available here, but here's an overview: the drumline performs at 11:15 and the band performs at 3:00. There's no bus transportation to/from the event, so be sure and check the full itenerary for all the details. Good luck Titan Pride!

Blue Springs Info

Find information for the 2009 Blue Springs Marching Festival on the forms page. Thanks!

Band "Test" Tuesday Night

Required for Tuesday night: every member of the band must have three (3) "dot cards." One of them was given to you today, and two of them are from earlier in the season but we've reminded you to keep them with you at all times. If you've misplaced one -- you can find them ALL here. Print your page or copy your coordinates onto a note card and you'll get 100%! Thanks. Again, follow this link if you need to reprint your own dot cards.
